Day 1: Kinshasa to Goma
Your journey begins with a flight from Kinshasa to Goma, a city located on the northern shore of Lake Kivu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Goma is known for its beautiful landscapes, shaped by the nearby Nyiragongo Volcano. Upon arrival, settle into your accommodations and take some time to relax after your journey. Upon arrival you will relax at Lac Kivu lodge where you will have a hot meal and later an overnight.
Day 2: Boat to Bukavu
In the morning, board a boat for a scenic ride across Lake Kivu to Bukavu. The journey offers breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Upon arrival in Bukavu, check into Begonase Hotel. Enjoy dinner at the hotel, preparing for the adventures ahead.
Day 3: Bukavu City Tour
Start your day with a guided city tour of Bukavu. The highlight of the day will be visiting Rusizi 1 and Rusizi 2 Falls, where you can witness the powerful flow of the Rusizi River as it cascades through the landscape. Return to Begonase Hotel for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Day 4: Kahuzi-Biega National Park
Today, transfer into Kahuzi-Biega National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its biodiversity. Embark on a thrilling gorilla trekking expedition, guided by experienced rangers who will lead you to a family of Eastern Lowland Gorillas. After this unforgettable experience, continue with a trek to spot chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Return to Begonainjse Hotel for a well-deserved rest.
Day 5: Transfer to Bujumbura
Depart Bukavu and travel to Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi. Upon arrival, check into Hotel de Lac Tanganyika, situated along the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Spend the evening relaxing by the lake, enjoying the peaceful ambiance and catching the sunset.
Day 6: Explore Bujumbura
Begin your exploration of Bujumbura with a visit to the Livingstone Monument, a tribute to the famous explorer David Livingstone. Next, journey to the stunning Cute de calera falls, where you can admire the cascading waters and lush surroundings. Return to Bujumbura in the afternoon, with time to relax before dinner at Hotel de Lac Tanganyika.
Day 7: Transfer to Gitega

Day 8: Return to Bujumbura

Day 9: Transfer to Kigali
Travel to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. Upon arrival, embark on a city tour that includes visits to key landmarks such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which offers an insight into Rwanda’s history. Explore the bustling markets and local craft centers and the museums. Overnight at Mille Colline hotel in Kigali.
Day 10: Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Depart Kigali and drive towards Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda. Pass through Ishasha, a region famous for its tree-climbing lions. Upon arrival, check into Enjojo Lodge, where you will spend the night surrounded by the beauty of the Ugandan wilderness.
Day 11: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Nile River to the base of the falls, where you can see hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Return to Twiga Safari Lodge for the night.
Day 15: Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Transfer to Entebbe
On your final day, visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino tracking experience. This sanctuary is home to Uganda’s only wild rhinos, and you will have the chance to observe these magnificent creatures up close. After the visit, transfer to Entebbe Airport for your departure, marking the end of an incredible journey through Central and East Africa.
