5 days double gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.

The 5-day double gorilla trekking experience in Rwanda is intended for travelers wishing to track mountain gorillas on two separate days, engaging with two distinct gorilla families. Double gorilla trekking in Rwanda offers a distinctive chance to examine behavioral variations and group dynamics between two separate gorilla families. The duration of tracking may vary due to distinct problems that can enhance the experiences’ memorability.

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport and transfer to Volcanoes.

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and greeted by our friendly driver guide who will brief you and take you through your trip plan. You will then be transferred to Volcanoes National Park where you will check in at the lodge. You will have lunch and proceed to visit Elen DeGeneres Museum by Diane Fossey for an optional tour. It’s a 20 minute drive from the hiking point to Elen Degeneres Museum by Diane Fossey

Day 2: Gorilla trekking & cultural tour

On this day, you will have a great time meeting the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park! After a tasty breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the lodge. You will head for briefing by ranger guides at 7:30 and at 8:30am with packed lunch. You will start the trek to hunt for the gorillas and after finding them you will spend with them a maximum of 1 hour. The walk can take 4-5 hours depending on where you meet the gorillas. The park is steep, it is a real hike and being physically fit is recommended. After enjoying a majestic one-hour stay with the gorillas, you hike back out of the park for lunch. After lunch, you will be driven to of Ibwiwachu community the gorilla guidance community. This afternoon you will visit the Ibwachu community where you will be introduced to traditional Rwanda through traditional; dances, poems, dressing codes among others.

Day 3: Second gorilla trek

On this day, you will have a great time meeting the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park! After a tasty breakfast, your guide will pick you from the lodge. You will head for briefing by ranger guides at 7:30 and at 8:30am with packed lunch. You will start the trek to hunt for the gorillas and after finding them you will spend with them a maximum of 1 hour. The walk can take 4-5 hours depending on where you meet the gorillas. The park is steep, it is a real hike and being physically fit is recommended. After enjoying a majestic one-hour stay with the gorillas, you hike back out of the park for lunch.

Day 4: Golden monkey trekking and boat ride along the twin lakes

This will take us through the edges of the forest via potato fields and the briefing will be conducted at the same place where the usual Kinigi park office is located this means the trekking will take us 3-4 hours after the trekking we shall return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will be taken to visit these two beautiful lakes, to explore their beauty, discover the wonderful adventures on this Canoe ride trip. You will be thrilled by the unique scenery of these impressive blue lakes from their dramatic formation that occurred as a result of Volcanic eruptions, the stunning views of numerous verdant islands within the lake, beautiful highlands and plantations in the surroundings and volcanic mountains that stand high from the backdrop.  On your Canoe ride in Twin lakes, there is also a chance to spot a variety of abundant bird species, learn about the real African rural life as you gently ride passing by the rural villages.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali for the city tour.

At 7:00 am you will have breakfast and transfer to Kigali for the city tour. You will visit the Gisozi genocide memorial museum where you will learn more about the history of genocide memorial and how it went throughout the country. You will also visit the firehouse, which is the area where the plane that was carrying president Habyarima was brought down, that late sparked the famous 1994 Rwanda genocide. You will then visit the Belgium museum and learn more about Rwanda’s culture.  You will then have lunch and be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
