Lake Manyara National Park is a compact and picturesque wildlife reserve situated at the base of the African Great Rift Valley. The park encompasses an area of 325 km², with a significant amount of its territory occupied by an alkaline lake that serves as a feeding place for enormous flocks of flamingos and various aquatic species. The park features diverse habitats, including acacia trees, rocky escarpments, and grassy floodplains, each offering stunning scenery and ambiance. The park serves as a conduit for the extensive migration of big herds of mammals. The slender expanse of acacia woodland serves as the preferred habitat for Manyara’s renowned tree-climbing lions.
