The twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo

These two eye catching lakes normally referred to as the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. The beautiful lakes are located in the middle of Musanze and the border of Uganda. The area where the twin lakes are located is very scenic with steep and mountainous farms neighbouring the virgin dark blue waters. How to get to the twin lakes in Rwanda

These lakes are situated approximately one hour from Sabinyo silverback lodge. Clients coming from Kigali will drive 99km (Approximately 3 hours) to get to Lake Burera and Ruhondo. Accessing the twin lakes from Mgahinga gorilla national park takes approximately 1 hour of driving.
